Amongst the vast deserts of the Southern Realm there is little life to be found, though it has nothing to do with a lack of population. After all, there is no shortage of people to be found here. Hordes of all kinds of folks bear the uncomfortable heat of the region simply to live within close proximity of the King’s palace, which rests at the center of the sand’s only city. Thus the Prince grew up surrounded by wealthy, boring nobles who sat sweating in their chairs, unable to define excitement. The heat may have contributed greatly to their lifelessness, but the Prince honestly believed that their actions wouldn’t have changed much had it not been so hot. They were pathetic Lords in his mind, living under a truly magnificent King.
Although the supremeness of the King just added to the reasons why the Prince wanted to leave. He loved his father, but he didn’t feel important to the kingdom. His father already held every title there was to be offered, including General of the Army and Warlord of the World. You would have thought that the Prince would have at least been able to claim the title of Heir to the Throne, but the King had already ruled for five hundred years and didn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. He would likely outlive the Prince. But besides that and the laziness of the nobles there was another reason why the Prince wanted out. He longed for adventure and to find his true love. And so he went with the King on his rare trip into the Western Realm, hoping to find his heart’s desires. His father, however, didn’t know his way through the great forests of the west anymore, having been over two centuries since his last visit. Luckily, a native tribe called the Kahtoree knew the way and graciously guided them through.
Upon entering the Western Kingdom the Prince parted ways with his father, realizing the region was full of what royal blood would call savages. Chances of him finding the love of his life here seemed slim. And so with his father’s permission he headed north, hoping to find what he originally set out for. Eventually he travels led him into the Frozen Abyss, where it was rumored the most beautiful treasures could be found if one was brave enough to claim them. Sounding like it offered both of the things he wanted, the Prince soon found himself in the most desolate climate on the planet, which made the desert seem almost heavenly. And after what seemed like an eternity of walking, he finally ended up taking refuge in the town of Kaltbury and booking a room at Jazmin’s Tavern. Since he began his stay at the inn the Prince has spent most of his time listening to the stories of the Swordsman, who has lived the life he wishes he could have. Outside of Jazmin, there were three other women staying at the inn who he basically spent the rest of his time spying on. Now the Martyr and the Sage weren’t ugly, but the Witch was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen and so he spent the most time watching her. Occasionally the Thief would interrupt though to chat, having both met before. It was obvious to the Prince why he was here. After all, he wasn’t the only one who had heard the rumors of the beautiful treasures…
